Positive crankcase ventilation. PCV. It MUST have suction on it-thats where the positive part comes in. Therefore it must connect to a large vacuum port on the carburetor-normally at the rear. I have seen engines PUMP the oil right out the dipstick tube when the pcv valve was plugged!
