Heavymg, I feel I must bring up a point that may or maynot be relevant to your plans or consideration.
If you are only going to have the body sheetmetal and decide to mount it on a PW frame, you will have a truck with 2-different serial numbers as the doorpost ID plate VIN# is the same as the one stamped on the frame of every WDX-WM300 PW. Now this may not matter to you or others but, the dooppost ID plate can be changed and I would find a junker PW that had a cab with the ID plate. That way you could mount the nicer cab
on that frame and swap ID plates so the cab VIN and the frame VIN would match.
I recommend either mounting a USbodysource body on a lone PW frame or either keeping the PW body on a PW frame so you don't have to deal with the body mounting problem and just deal with mounting/adapting a more modern drivetrain (eng., tranny,t-case, axles) to the original frame(which would be cheaper in the end).
If you just really like the body and don't plan to work the truck like many do, and want it as a daily driver remember, it doesn't have to stay a 1-ton where suspension and drivetrain are concerned. You can use 3/4 or 1/2 ton components.
