I wish there was a place, anyone could go to, to read over all the past forum posts. It is easier I know to asked these repeated questions over and over again on the present forum but, I now realize why there seems to be less and less response to currently asked questions about previous issues. Until someone indexs PW issues from this PW forum (which would be virtually impossible)and would be an ongoing effort,we will be counted on to provide friendly and hopefully accurate information to all those who ask.
Heavymg, your best bet would be to check out the tech specs at the home page of this forum to get frame and body dimensions. If someone with a flatfender WDX-WM300 PW like the one pictured at the top of this forum, is nearby so you could get measurements, you would be in good shape. These measurments will give you the info you need to determine what more modern chassis would be best to use.
I personally recommend that you not use original sheet metal to mount on the modern frame as some consider it a sacriledge to do so especially if it is not a mopar chassis.
Check out www.usbodysource.com . This company makes many different car and truck fiberglass body parts. they make the cab, hood, fenders, runningboards, radiator cover. Then checkout vintage air who makes combo heating and air conditioning units for vintage vehicles.
This is just my suggestion and bias as well. But if you have the funds to attempt such a project, you would have a real piece of artwork, envied by many.
