Belive I would do it same as a windshield. Give the center of the gromment a few good wraps of heavy string/twine. Make sure the hole is bur free, and the ID of the hole is equal to the OD of the gromment waist.Lube everything with dish soap, then pass the end of the string that just finished wraping the gromment thru the hole. Push on the gromment while slowly pulling om the string. Should do it. If not, the hole is too small. You might want to go to a larger gromment as there always seems to be a need for more wires.
