This is the time of year I look forward to fishing for Bass and Northern Pike, but Lake Pend Oreille is above flood stage, which means the boat ramps are under water, and all of my fishing spots are unrecognizable. So yesterday I decided to haul a bunch of old metal roofing and other scrap to the recycle place. I got a whopping $36 for my efforts, but it's gone, and so is our 20 year old microwave which died recently. While the guy with the giant magnet was unloading, I noticed a chassis on top of the pile with dual wheels and a front drive axle. I couldn't see much of the axle, but the housing looked like it was centered in the axle. I can tell that the years are taking their toll on me, because there was a time when I would have bought it for the salvage and had him load it on my trailer. Or, maybe the years are making me smarter? I'd like to think that. :)
