I found another link where a customer asked some good questions. See below. Some of them were answered.
I find it interesting that the sites do not generally differentiate between forged and non-forged u-bolts. And my question would be - are the old forged u-bolts used on our Dodges rolled threads also? It would be interesting to learn how many times over the past 70 years the u-bolts on my trucks have been removed and reused by previous owners.
