I'd been having issues with the truck sitting a few days and not being able to start without dumping about 1/2 cup gasoline down the carb. I'd figured, "Well, its old". This shortened to overnight not long ago. That started me thinking, I should look into what's going on.

Two days ago it was down to the time it takes to stop for a burger and a beer.

I had a rebuild kit for the carb [ Carter WA1 with manual choke ] so I went through the thing, with the kit, new gaskets, finally, and lots of esoteric adjustments.

I can tell right off the bat that the idle circuit works better. I actually have adjustments for mixture & idle speed that aren't mashed to one end or the other.

The pump shot on this carb is adjustable, I'm about in the middle. At first it would bog. Now it doesn't bog, but the RPMs come up kinda' slow. In fact the horsepower just seems a little low and the machine feels sluggish.

It's running ok, just seems a tad doggy.

Thoughts? Anyone?

Thanks!
