Can you imagine working at a parts counter in the early 1960's and having people come in wanting parts for all of those oddball one-off things that Chrysler tried in the 1950's? It must have been a nightmare.
I was in a small local parts store in the early 1980's waiting in line to buy something. It was one of those old places in a not-so-good part of town, dark, dirty, and musty, run by an old grouchy geezer. He had some really hard to find parts. The trick was getting on his good side.
Some guy ahead of me asked for some obscure part for a 1950 something Hemi engine. The old guy lost it, cussed him out, and told him to leave. He apparently had been dealing with this kind of nonsense for too many years...
