By the shape of that rock and your location I will assume it is granite. The specific gravity of granite is about 2.5. A cubic foot of water weighs 62.4 lbs. Therefore a cubic foot of granite weighs 62.4 x 2.5 or about 156 lbs. From there, #1 You can guess at the number of cubic feet in the rock and do the math, #2 You can submerge the rock in a full tank of water, collect the water it displaces, measure that amount of water in cubic feet or gallons, if in gallons at 8 lbs. per US gallon or 10 lbs per Imp. gallon, do the math. #3 Swing the boom around, lower it down onto the deck of the truck and take a drive down to the local feed mill. #4 Do all three of the above and compare the results. Geeeeh, It's great to be retired eh? JJB.
