You do that so that after you upgrade to tricked out Dana 44 axles, 38-inch diameter chrome wheels with virtually no rubber between them and the pavement, a 6-inch lift kit, and a custom body lift (so everyone can see all the bling underneath), you still have the headroom to use the drive-thrus at your favorite local hangouts - Starbucks, the dry cleaners, the toll booth, and the ATM.
