Ah Ha: Re Phil's recent wiring diagram compared to the B 2 diagram in his thread in the last forum "Horn Wiring - 6 volt Pos. Ground". Note that this diagram is a 12 volt system with a negative ground.
In my last post of Phil's "Horn Wiring" I suggested that possibly with a grounded negative system the positive wire from the battery and starter would probably go to the + positive post on the ammeter. Here you have it, to keep the charge and discharge function reading correctly.
Note that the horn wiring does not pass through the ammeter, as was mentioned in the previous forum. Not much use to have it register on the gauge as it is, or should be only a momentary load.
Also note on this 12 volt diagram compared to the 6 volt diagram that the wire from the starter post to the ammeter has been reduced from a #10 to a #12. Double the voltage equals half the amperage. As the Old Folks use to say "a penny saved is as good as a penny earned". All the best with your project Marty. We know you can do it. JJB.
