My Carryall originally had to fan type like yours. When I put the 251 flathead in it, I happened to have the spark plug loom with the coil mounted on top and the wires running through on each side. I used it and was a simple removal of the boot on one end without recrimping the ends and run the wires through it. I think the fan type would work the same way. I haven't had any problems.
