I haven't used one on my WDX, but I have a Pertronix conversion in my '66 F350 4x4 with a 428. I've had it for about 15 years. It has failed twice in that time, necessitating a tow home, and ordering replacement parts. With a points type distributor I could have replaced them and been on my way. I would not replace the distributor in my WDX because I simply don't believe it's worth the cost and the related hassels, such as I had with my Ford. It's embarrassing to have to be towed home. :(
