An old mechanic, who used to live in Bremerton and worked as a mechanic for the Navy, told me if it's a new engine, or you have a good knowledge of the maintenance history, use 30w detergent, maybe 20w in the winter. If it's an old engine or you don't know the history, use non-detergent.
