Well, I double-checked the ID of the new bushing by using a telescoping gage and an outside micrometer, and came up with 1.5224 - 1.5229", so slightly smaller than my initial measurements, but not a whole lot.

I also measured the OD and came up with between 2.099 - 2.100, whether I used my calipers or my micrometer.

I attempted to measure the ID of the axle housing using a telescoping gage and an outside mic. It was a little difficult to access, but I think I got some decent measurements. I took several measurements and most of them ended up between 2.0996 - 2.098. One ended up at 2.099, and even though I was really trying to be careful with that one, it seems like an outlier compared to the others. So it seems like there's probably about 0.002 - 0.003" press fit, which should result in a couple thou of ID shrinkage in the bushing - at least that's my hope.

Based on the above, I think I'll go ahead and use the bushing.

I've heard of Synthetic Green Grease, but never used it. I bought several tubes of Valvoline Synpower Sythetic with moly. Based on the way it feels and flows when I pack bearings, it seems unlikely to run and leak, but we'll see.

Thanks for the input.
