Could be residue. Turns out Mark has a NOS pumpkin he'll sell me. If that will bolt up, I should be good to go.

Except..

I guess there are 2 sizes for 3/4T 3rd members and one of the cover studs' threads is bizarrely messed up in my casing. Its never simple.
