I am not an expert but have read about this and used a snatch block for work, my PW is not a trailer queen, at least this one...
I read that you should get one rated at least twice what the weight is of the object you want to move if mired in mud, etc.
In that case you would want a snatch block at least 11,000 #.
I got a military surplus one with an 8" pulley, I think it is rated about 15k, but not sure, because I can see no marks on it.
I have used it to pull a massive white oak log out of a ravine, with no problem.
