I've already rebuilt the switch.

Originally I went through the switch. Pretty simple inside. Cleaned everything up, put it back together and there was no change at all. That's when I started thinking that maybe it was the brushes having trouble contacting and gave it tap on the side with the hammer. Pretso! It was working.

Any other time I'd dig right in there, break something, project explodes into weeks of work, no problem. But, as we all know, I need this to be up and running Friday morning.

Now, I been thinking "what's changed that suddenly this has become an issue?" Then it came to me. I greased the foot petal. The foot petal works great now. I'm NO LONGER KICKING IT to make it work. I bet my fighting the foot petal was giving the starter some good taps every day.

So? Current plan is to continue testing, but just pre-tap the starter whenever I want to start the truck. If this works I'll give it a shot for the trip. If not? Maybe I'll cross my fingers and dig in there anyway? I guess any way I'm crossing my fingers and I just hate that.

At least I got the driver's windshield wiper to work. Now I need to come up with some sort of cover for the battery.

PS : Cell phone # is on the contacts page of Left Coast.
