3K RPM for a 6 with a stroke as long as the 230s have is quite alot. All the power in these engines from torque comes n at around 1100 rpm or lower they were never designed for high speed/ The civilian owners manuals for the WC Dodge trucks list the red line between 3000 and 3200 RPM.
