I remember getting up at 5:30 to go cook in the cafeteria while at college at Paul Smith's.
When I got up, the closer I got to the radiator, the colder it was, it was next to the window, snow was inside on the window sill.
Showered up down the hall and dressed in the hall, hall was warm, insulated from the outer wall by all the dorm rooms.
Wool long johns over silk, Wool pants and outer canvas pants, Silk and wool socks, Sorels with 1/2 inch felt liner, Pendleton wool shirt and Woolrich wool jacket, and expedition Down jacket and expedition mittens.
Still cold walking the 1000 ft across the Quad to the cafeteria, from the wind coming across Lower St. Regis Lake at about 30 mph.
It can get cold inside the Blue Line.
By the way Paul, have you eaten at Witherbees Carriage House, Patty just spent some time and got some new recipes from Bobby Flay, some celebrity Chef. I need to visit you the next time I'm up at Smitties.
I hope everyone has a Safe and Blessed New Year, stay warm....Ray
