Joe: Some really good advice here! Coming from someone who lives South of the Border in Maryland, you would think we don't know nothing about cold weather. But, it's four degrees out this morning... And, thanks to your tax dollars, I've had the opportunity to learn about cold weather survival and I was lucky enough to spend a long winter overseas where I learned that -40 Celsius is the same as -40 Fahrenheit.

The theme from everyone here is spot on. You need layers to stay warm. Polypropylene is a great insulator. Modern (for the last 35 years) cold weather gear also include heavy duty polypro long johns and long sleeve shirts. They are pretty much standard Uncle Sam TA-50 issue today, and they are readily available at many places that sell military surplus gear.

Mittens will always be warmer than gloves, but good luck working on the Power Wagon with mittens. My new cold weather mittens are from a company called Gordini. They work well, but you still need liners.

When I need to use my fingers, I wear thin glove liners, then heavy glove liners, followed by Extra Large $5.00 leather Harbor Freight tan gloves.

Stay Warm everyone!

Wayne
