I used Eastwood’s kit about 10 Year’s ago to replate the flip down license plate hardware on one of my cars... the finish was only adequate...and the spring broke very easily; thats how I learned about “hydrogen embrittlement.”

I prefer to derust with a phosphoric acid metal prep solution (cheap and available at Lowe’s) then top it with a quality paint.
