Thanks Ernie... seems strange to have a lock on the 'street' side. Ya know, reach over lock the door, get out and key lock the drivers door would make sense. I have pics of VC-1s and 5s that were marked in an album as 1939, so I am thinking production started in mid to late 1939. 2 years before war, you might not think of painting shiny stuff stateside.
