Well, I was actually talking about Tim, who is the much younger one. George is older, and seems pretty even-keeled, mellow and friendly. Tim starts off friendly, but seems to get very worked up about things at the slightest perceived provocation, and then there is no way to convince him that he has misunderstood your intent. As I mentioned before, I could never convince him that I had no desire to tinker with the dual-carb setup that I planned on buying from George. I only asked if any adjustment would be needed after installing it on my truck. That was literally the extent of my question, and he quickly went down the path of assuming that I wanted to tinker with it, and that I would mess it up and then get on some forum and blame George. Nothing could be farther from the truth. From my point of view, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, but he decided he didn't want George to sell me the dual carb setup, because I would mess it up.
He and George have been working on flatheads, including doing work for customers, for a very long time, so they have probably had some unsavory encounters, so I can understand his attitudes to some extent, but I think he has taken his sensitivity to an extreme. Sometimes you can see it in his posts on the P15-D24 site. Of course, some of those guys also seem to work at provoking him, which is the other sude of the coin.
