1993 d250 question

Fingered y'all would know the answer. I'm pretty much over rebuilding my front end AGAIN. And considering abandoning the whole IFS. Heard a dana 60 front axle would be the cats meow and have tried to local one for couple years. Found a 1985 w350 with a bad motor and automatic...like mine...and appears to be a vac activated engagement. Question would be...can that axle handle the load...will it fit. Down the road I can pull the automatic trans...but would like to get the axle IN...INSTEAD of buying all new parts for IFS. control arms a toast too. Looks like 2 or 3k to rebuild what is a horrible front end anyway. Any wisdom is appreciated
