the guys on the facebook page of restomodded pws are just as bad as the purists. they block purists and limit contributions to those modifying their power wagons. I appreciate it all and try to stay out of the debates. The legacy trucks are crap relative to the prices charged. they look nice to the non informed. the crewcabs and sheet metal matt tisdale creates are driving the current trend. He builds great stuff and spends time on the details. correct sheetmetal and correct rims. Braden winches. i'd buy a truck built and finished by him, dan M or charles talbert. i wouldn't but a a legacy or one built by james torina. the orange one he built for sema is not my cup of tea. i visit the restomod page and like the lower buck builds where a guy uses fabrication and thrift to build something innovative. the high buck trucks offer nothing innovative or nothing that wasn't done before. want to compare? Check chris case's 5 window against legacy's offering. who got the lines right? which one looks close to stock? you spend your money, you get to choose. i'm finding myself looking at grand wagoneers as a base for a daily driver build. we had one as a kid, before i could drive. It was a love hate affair. we loved the truck, we hated the issues with the engine related to smog and fuel system. i'd like to build one with a focus on reliability and comfort. a super clean engine compartment, with AC and all of the little body issues taken care of.
