I am mad that someone did that. It has happened to me over the years. You can search all of craigslist using search tempest. I started using it to look for parts when I first got my PW 4 years ago. That is how I found Ed Bateman getting rid of parts when he lost his storage. Then you can search all over at once. Good Luck. Side note, I had a 1940 Plymouth pickup and a pallet full of extra parts on the side of my house. I sold the home under the "loose" condition I could keep the parts there until my new home was ready, in 6 months. The people got rid of them. I saw them at a swap meet a year later. They do turn up but you are right, hard to identify.
