I went to my local alternator shop and got a Nippon-Denso knock off. It is for a late-model Mopar and meant to be used with an external regulator. He installed a Delco external regulator piggy back and I only have one 8 gauge wire going to the starter. I think it would work with stock brackets on an older motor. It's hard to say my motor ('73 340) came with all of the brackets loose/missing and using what I had I made it work pretty easily. It sure seems to kick butt.
