If the length of the engine bay in the WM300 is only 33" or so (could someone measure this? I don't have one in my back yard...) than the 6AT isn't a good choice.

A 4BT is 30.12" long from gear cover to flywheel adapter. The engine is a little taller at 35.16", so you most likely would have to trim the oil pan and add some lift most likely with a combination of blocks and spring work (like I ended up doing with my M37). A 4BT is actually a square unit that officially is 23.33" wide (factory measurement is at the rear of a bare block), but that does not take into effect the alternator and powersteering pump overhang on either side of the front, so check the width of the engine bay carefully as well.

All that said, you might be able to stuff a 4BT in using a Ranger OD (0.73:1 7" long case) to serve as an adapter between the Cummins and the original NP transmission. You likely would have to shorten the little driveshaft a couple of inches. I'd also go with a thin electric fan.
