Yes it has been done, John Gentry has one in his M37 with a chevy engine. I am currently putting one in my M37 with a Dodge 360 engine. The biggest problem is the length of the NV4500. The whole setup is about 7" longer than the stock setup. The 27% overdrive of this trans makes it a very worthwhile swap.
