Jonas, my '47 had the same problem once. I tracked it down to a hairline crack in the distributer cap. After wiping away the carbon track that was developing, the crack was barely visible. I would also try using a jumper wire past the ignition switch. The switch can be worn just enough to cut out at higher RPMs.
