Kurt, I respectfully disagree. If you have a 24V charger, you can just hook it up to both batteries as installed in the truck. After all, that's what the generator on the truck does does and that's what the military battery chargers do. I charge mine one at a time just because all I have is a cheap little sears 6/12V battery charger. The problem with doing it one at a time (besides taking longer) is you're unlikely to charge them both exactly the same amount. Once the chargers are "unbalanced", the the only way they'll get balanced out is when you drive the truck and one of the batteries overcharges for a while till they're equalized. When you charge them in series, the exact same current is going through both batteries (no other place for it to go) so they have to charge equally. Obviously if you charge them separately and check them with a hydrometer to make sure they're equal, there'd be no problem, but what a hassle compared to just putting a 24V charger on it, charging enough to start the engine, and driving away happy. If I'm wrong, I'd like somebody to explain why, because this makes total sense to me.
