I don't have the pics here, but they only made one T203 VF 1.5 ton ambulance - so it isn't very likely that it's the shell you found. It would look like a full size plain Dodge panel van rather than a coachbuilders version, and if there is only the shell there you might be able to identify it by full sized civilian pattern rear wings with oversized clearances cut in them.

I'm not sure of the details, but after WW2 ambulance production had stopped I seem to remember the Navy got a good few ambulances built on ordinary Power Wagon frames by companies like Boyertown and Gerstenlager, as they were unwilling to wait for the army to finalise the spec for the M43 ambulance that was based on the M37.

If you go to the PW classifieds and look 21 ads up from the bottom for a grey '52 truck that sold for US 3000 you can see a picture of a complete one.
