A lot of sites, especially sites that offer free email and web hosting space, will limit the amount of data that can be transfered per month. If a page has 1 meg of data in it in the form of data, pictures, etc., and 100 people log on and view that page, thats 100 megs of network traffic from that page. If the web site limits you to 100 meg per month of network traffic, the next people to try and load the page will not be able to do so until the internet service provider resets the counter, usually at the beginning of the month. This helps the isp from getting overloaded with network traffic.
