I recently saved a JD 6-404T from the scrapper. It would be a major undertaking to do, but I am really thinking I want to do something different from a Cummins in the Carryall.

Heres what I have: JD6404TH-1, Turbo up top with exhaust outlet to the front. It came from a combine so shallow square oil pan. It has a Bosch inline pump...havent looked into what type yet... Square mounting pattern on the back so it would require some kind of adapter plate just to get to SAE and I'll bet the flywheel on it weighs more than me.

I've seen a couple of the smaller JD 6cyl diesels in pickups on the Google but not much on putting a 404 in anything other than a 4020 tractor. The one truck I have seen in person was a 70's F350 2wd with a 370 something motor with a turbo from an early 90's Ford. The IP on that truck was not modified so it was still governed like a tractor. The truck was not suitable for highway use but was great around town and the farm...he said it pulled like a freight train...slowly.

Any ideas?
