I think it was a Power Wagon bus originally.

Or some other application that required a chassis cowl body. Then later in life the rear body was removed and a 2wd cab was poorly welded onto the flat face cowl cowl. Imagine an M601 cab with the flatter dash and no provision for the windshield regulator getting a 2wd cab welded onto it.

My guess is whoever built that portion had a use for it and maybe had a flat bed on it. The bed is a 6 1/2 foot one from a WWII 1/2 ton military 4wd. Who knows if the bed was added when the cab was done or later in life when someone tried to take a working truck and make it into a more traditional looking Power Wagon.

The windshield is fixed glass with no windshield frame.

People who have inspected it in person say it is rough and rusty.

It is an interesting creation. I wonder why the guy who welded on the cab didn’t just pull the cowl and mount the 2wd cab?
