the guy lubing the springs would pump thde pedal on the jiggle jack to work the grease between the leaves. see the link. they still make jiggle jacks. they are handy when doing other things under a car hoist. when you push the pedal it moves the jack up and down a few inches. I used them back in the day in the exhaust biz quite a bit. tranny guys like them too. great for putting a little force in one spot when needed
