I have a Desoto hemi that I believe is a 276 that I pulled from a very very hard worked power wagon. It was mated to the original transmission using what I believe was the original bellhousing. They welded or brazed, I am not sure which, mounts on the bellhousing which appeared to not have any originally. I was not the cleanest install I have seen but I believe the truck was used for many years with this motor so it functioned fine. The engine used two block mounts rather than a single front mount so it had four total motor mounts. I would expect the biggest advantage would be the higher speed capability of the motor and with the small displacement it will not overwhelm the rest of the drivetrain like a bigger v8 tends to. I wish I knew more about the bellhousing but I figure it must be the factory unit.
