might be the rear diff. if someone ran dry teeth could be bad. one thing to check is pull the fill plug on rear diff and feel the teeth with your finger and they should be nice and smooth. if the are wavy and/or rough then most likely that's the noise. bad rear diff noise always carries into the cab. sounds like tcase or tranny
