I assume aluminum wheels. If so, not uncommon. I had a crack in one of my front rims at the valve stem. My truck is always loaded. The tire guys said it often happens. The Alcoa truck rims are the best and don't generally have this problem. It all in the quality of the metal. The steering wheels take a lot of abuse turning all that weight. The rears don't get all the side torque that the fronts get so you usually see it on the front rims.
