The more lead, the more amps. But batteries only live until the sulfate that sinks to the bottom builds up until it shorts the plates. More times you cycle, faster it builds. So, "deep cycle" batteries have plates that don't go near the bottom.

But you probably have "marine starter batteries". Heavier, can crank longer for engines that are parked long time.

Last time I was battery shopping, I saw the different guarantee periods on different batteries. But they all weighed the same. So I bought the cheaper, shorter guarantee model.
