you know the answer to your question. each truck has a specific weakness relative to the design use. a long bed dodge diesel is not a trail machine. you could lift and big tire it and then you change its ride and usefulness. ever try to get in the bed of a lifted truck? if you lift something that long to avoid high centering, you'll likely make it unstable or you'll be catching every tree branch on the trail.
