I've done my share of U-Joints. But, I currently don't have a press and I really hate doing them. So, I'd already lined up a local shop to take care of it.

Most of the wires passed some time ago. Little bits of rusty wire left over sticking out of the u-joint. I think so far I've only found one intact.

In order to get the intermediate shaft out, I ended up having to remove the cab floor. (First time in decades for most of it.) That was nearly an all day job. This is when I discovered that my throttle petal was actually a HW store gate hinge. And, that the throttle return spring was attached to the middle of the passenger floor plate. I can't see Dodge attaching part of the throttle linkage to the body of the truck, so I'm betting there's some better way for this to attach.

And I need to get my hands on a real throttle petal. Or at least the missing bits of this one. Gate hinges make horrible throttle petals.
