Well after using weatherstrip adhesive, the rubber is staying in, even with all the fiddling with the alignment of the mounting hinges. I sprayed with son of a gun protectant and that allowed the rubber seal to be massages to lay properly on the body seal surface. Just need to get the tape aligned so it will retract into the body.
