WC half ton hood props?

Did they build some 41's and earlier with no way to prop the hood like on the later 3/4 ton WC's and the Post War WM's?
I've used a stick to hold it up during maintenance so far, wondering that if you let it flop over on the opposite side would it ruin the center hinge?
I picked up a couple of used props at the rally but don't see any holes for mounting them.
