Here on Long Island during WWII there were a number of defense factories, hence a number of 'Rosie The Riveters', of which my mother was one. Yesterday one of the last, or possibly the last, passed away at the age of 103. Not to be put on the same level as our military veterans, they did however perform a vital function in the War effort.
