Reasonable towing limit with FFPW?

I know I'm going to catch some flak for asking this but here we go:

I'd like to use Grumbly, my '51 FFPW, for towing other vehicles. (Including #12 around town to car shows)

The hitch is welded to the rear crossmember and tied in with multiple bars, so I'm not worried about that.

I also have the newly installed 5.9L Magnum V8, power steering, PS cooler, hydroboost and front disc brakes with new brake lines. Transfer case and 5.83 axles are stock, trans is an NP420.

Wheels and tires are Budd front and Combat rear with new Power King tires. The truck cruises easily at 65mph and will do 80+ without any shaking or transfer case overheating.

I've installed a 7-pin/4-pin trailer harness and have an electronic brake controller on the way.

I'm planning on buying an aluminum 20' tandem axle 10K trailer of some sort, possibly with 12K axles. This would be about a 8000lb load.

Sheer folly or reasonable setup for around down and short highway jaunts around here?

I'm confident with most of the setup but I'd be interested to see how others have fared with the stock suspension and axles under this usage. Do these trucks tow well?

Look forward to getting some constructive feedback...

Thanks,
Michael
