Because the auction is in Auburn, Ind. and they are selling other military vehicles most likely from what was at one time a very nice local military museum. They auction off a large portion of the collection a few years ago.The so called Patton command car I am sure is from the museum. The large collection of military vehicles in the museum came from closing of a museum in ??Beligium. Not sure but I think it was Mr. Kruse that bought the whole collection and shipped it to the USA. Mr Kruse was the owner/founder of Kruse Auctions which I think got into financial problems and now is Auctions America. The original collection of vehicles had enough German equipment that I thought could outfit a German Division. Most likely the Patton CC was part of the collection from Europe and was probably created there. I doubt that Patton had anything to do with this vehicle. Others may have more complete knowledge about this.
