With 36" Michelins and 4.89 gears you will turn 3000 RPMs at 60 MPH. With 4:30s you would still be turning just over 2600 RPM. You would need to use a 30% overdrive with 4.89s and 36" tires to get near 2000 RPMs where a diesel would be happier.
