Sticking Accelerator

So the accelerator, linkage, or carb are sticking on my '54 FF. Push the accelerator and all is well. Take foot of the pedal and it stays accelerated. Punch the pedal and back down to idle.

I've checked and can't seem to find a reason. Anyone else had this issue and/or an idea of how to identify/repair the problem?
